RECRUITING FACTS

DIVISION I COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS A MEGA MULTI MILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS

Technology has increased the speed of recruiting which is the biggest part of the business.

   - US Mail has become obsolete in the recruiting process - unless the area recruiter is expecting the package.

   - Very few college programs can honestly say they evaluate every video that is mailed to them.

   - Many times the videos that are mailed in are never viewed and evaluated.

   - A lot of times the college coach will stop watching your video after 3-5 plays if you don't "jump off the screen".

   - Put your highlight film together with the very best plays first to keep them watching your film.

Most Division I programs are 2 years ahead of the current graduating class in recruiting.

   - Look at the information on the University websites, Rivals and Scout.

   - It is not uncommon to see the Top 100 Rising Juniors with offers already.

   - The same is always true for the Top 100 Rising Seniors.

   - These players are commonly referred to as ELITE or NATIONAL recruits.

   - If you are not a Top 100 ELITE or NATIONAL recruit you need to keep reading!

There are over 250,000 high school football seniors each year.

   - There are just over 5,000 total scholarships in Division I football.

   - Each Division I program usually has about 8 to 18 scholarships per year to offer - this varries.

   - Less than 1% of high school football seniors will get a full scholarship to a Division 1 school.

   - All colleges recruit based on their needs the various positions.

   - EX: you may be a great Wide Receiver but they have 6 returners at WR and are in need of Linebackers.

   - The longer you wait to expose yourself the less likely it is that you will play College Football.

   - The recruiting & evaluation process begins once you become a Varsity Starter in High School.

Even the BIGTIME PROGRAMS don't have the budget or staff to visit every high school & see each senior.

   - With their annual operating budget they usually recruit LOCALLY and the football HOT SPOTS.

   - Locally means in their state and the surrounding states in their region.

   - Hot Spots are states like Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, California, etc.

   - Normally they only visit the FOOTBALL FACTORIES when they are in a hot spot state.

   - Football Factories are the schools that win or have talented players that succeed on the college playing field.

   - There are too many High Schools that are not visited by college recruiters.

   - Let us make sure the recruiters see your film.

More than 80% of scholarship opportunities come from DII, DIII, NAIA and Junior Colleges.

   - There is a college for every player to continue their education & playing career.
